Thinking on Politics

I've never been big on past elections, but partially because this will be the first Presidential election I am eligible to vote on. I've done a lot of thinking on the kind of person I would want leading our country, and I have a good idea of what that person looks like.

"As the nation approaches its 57th Presidential Election, we're asking the future leaders of this country, students, to define the single most important political issue in this election. Tell us not only what that issue is, but also tell us why and how you propose we come to a solution that benefits the majority?"

With the direction our country is heading these days, I'm positive the most important issue in the upcoming election is the financial plan for the country, and where our future president plans on allocating monetary resources. This has been a major focus point for the past few years, but many people have no idea how to address it because of the current severity it has reached. I feel that in order to remedy the situation, the only thing we can do is to severely limit our spending by focusing only on research that is of true importance, such as cancer research or other disease research. We should also slowly begin to save some of our national income to pay back the people and companies we owe, in order to lower our overall debt.

Even with those practices in place, it will take time to get our country's economy back on its feet. We as citizens need to continue to support pur leadership, regardless of whether or not we agree with their personal beliefs. Without the country's full support, our president cannot hope to help us in any way.
