It's no secret that Nick and I plan to return to Disney. We miss it like crazy; it's where we want to be. Our plan is to attend the Spring 2016 DCP in Disney World, and then the Fall 2016 DCP in Disneyland and stay on in Disneyland if we can afford it. However, that poses a challenge.
A money challenge.
We're getting married and going on a Disneyland honeymoon in October, which isn't cheap. There are fees for both CPs, not to mention we want to pay our rent ahead of time if we can. That right there is over $1000 for each of us.
Therein lies our challenge. We are spending as little money as we can over the next few months. Yes, we're paying for the basics: tithe, rent, cell phones, gas, groceries, and school loans. Plus we both allot a tiny bit of free spending a month so we don't go crazy. But other than that we are shoving over $300 a month each into savings. It feels good, but it's a challenge. It takes effort to not go buy that book I want, or purchase more planner supplies.
But I know this challenge is worth it. Because in the end, our dreams are worth it.

The Thingamavlogs Crisis
My favorite YouTube channel will never be the same.
Today, I learned Keith Lapinig has left Thingamavlogs.
Everywhere I searched, it seemed only messiness had ensued.
He reported all of their videos for copyright infringement because he had designed the logo.
Yet, he's choosing not to say anything about what has happened.
The other Thingamavloggers seem saddened by this sudden development.
What could have happened to make him so angry like this?
He even mentioned moving back to New York.
The sad thing is I've begun to enjoy Thingamavlogs more than Keith's channel.
Will I unsubscribe from Keith? Not yet.
I will want to see how this unfolds, and to hear Keith's side.
Only then will I decide if I will continue to support him.
The whole things seems kind of childish and slightly fishy.
We shall wait and see.
However, Wednesdays will never be the same.

Disneybounding
This week, I posted this photo on my Instagram:
For those who don't know what Disneybounding is, is was created by Leslie Kay. All you have to do is use regular everyday clothes, hairstyles, and accessories to imitate various Disney characters.
It's no secret that I love Disney. I've never been a big Disneybounder, but I've started to do it more recently. A couple of weeks ago I did Anna from Frozen, and then Minnie Mouse, and now Elsa. (Yes, I'm obsessed with Frozen. It's unhealthy.)
I'm going to Disneyland in late October for my honeymoon and for Halloween, and I already have some ideas for Disneybounds I will be doing! I want to do a couples bound with my fiance of Ariel and Eric, and probably a full costume of Anna and Kristoff for Halloween. I'll also be doing Minnie again, and probably some other princesses, although I don't have them planned out yet.

The Meaning of Ariel
I've decided I need to start blogging at least three times a week. While that total will be cumulative between this blog and my book blog, I want to really focus on this blog. I enjoy writing and blogging, and since I've been going through a really rough and emotional patch lately in life, I need something to help ease that.
A blog I follow, Mama Kat's Losing It, I followed way back when I was a part of a blogging group. (I don't even remember its name, it has been that long.) I loved that she shows her honesty through a touch of sarcasm and humor, and I never stopped reading. She does weekly and monthly blogging and blogging prompts, so most of my posts for awhile will come from her.
According to Behind the Name, Ariel means "lion of God". It is referenced in the Bible a few times, once as another name for Jerusalem in Isaiah 29:1-8 (Wikipedia), and once as a helper to Ezra in Ezra 8:16 (Bible Study Tools).
My parents did not raise me as a Christian; I came into my faith through my friends. I attended their church youth group and AWANA through middle school, and then began going to Sunday morning services with them as well. However, I was not saved until high school, through some greed and ignorance on my part.
Where am I going with this, you may ask. While my parents did not raise me as a Christian, this does not mean they are not spiritual people. While we may not agree on beliefs, they have always supporting me, and I appreciate the way I was raised. I feel that I have a different view of Christianity than many other Christians, simply because I was not raised as one from a young age.
Because of my family, for many years I loathed the meaning of my name. I felt it was meant for someone else; I did not feel like I could be a strong warrior, or a lion for God's name. For many years I wished I had various other names.
As I entered my college years and spent a short time at George Fox University, a private Christian college, I became stronger in my faith as I explored it for myself, instead of "riding on the coattails" of my friends. During this time I doubted many times, but I never completely lost my faith in God. Deep down, I knew He was there for me, even if I couldn't see it.
Those years greatly influenced who I am today. Don't get me wrong, I still have hard times. However, I remember what I have accomplished, and realize that I do embody my name. Even if I am not a strong warrior or a fighter on the outside, I am constantly standing firm on the inside, a strong lion for God.
